The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is an autonomous board under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Its certifications are fully recognized on par with CBSE, ICSE, and state boards for higher education, competitive exams, and jobs.


Program Summary & Eligibility

 NIOS 10th (Secondary)

  • Age Limit: Minimum 14 years of age.

  • Eligibility: Class 8 or 9 pass/fail certificate, or a self-certificate of basic literacy.

 NIOS Plus Two (12th / Senior Secondary)

  • Age Limit: Minimum 15 years of age.

  • Eligibility: Must have successfully passed the 10th standard from any recognized board.

  • Custom Subject Choice: Choose any combination of 5 or more subjects across Science, Commerce, or Humanities.

  • Transfer of Credit (TOC): Failed or partial-pass students from other boards can transfer marks for up to two passed subjects.

  • Exam Flexibility: Choose between standard Public Exams (April/May or Oct/Nov) or On-Demand Exams (ODE) taken at your convenience.

  • Score Structure: 20% weightage is given to continuous internal assessment through Tutor Marked Assignments (TMA).
